GCSE Film Studies is for those students who not only love watching films but also want to explore how they are made and the techniques used to create blockbuster movies through to smaller budget independent films.  Students will be encouraged to explore the history of film from the Golden Age of cinema through to modern times, and analyse how genre, technology and stereotypes have altered through time.

As well as two written examinations focussing on the 8 films students will study, there is also a creative element in the controlled assessment, which will allow students to create storyboards and advertising materials for their own film creation.

The course is comprised of 70% examination and 30% controlled assessment.  Students can achieve a Grade 1-9.
